Race Medal Display...

Check out this little gem...

So awesome right????

So I know I only have 3 medals so far. Most races under 10 miles only give out shirts, not medals. I have every intention of collecting more and more through the years. I have wanted a proper place to hang them without it looking super cheesy and I think this is PERFECT!!!!!

I really wish that someone could drop a subtle hint to my husband. I NEED THIS!!!!

You can find it and other cool medal display options at this website: http://www.medalhangers.com/view/98/Runner-Female-Display

Update...

I have not been updating this blog very much for one very specific reason. Simply put, I have not been doing much running. :(

I have not been doing much running for one very specific reason. Simply put, I am pregnant.

It is absolutely safe to continue running during pregnancy. Read this article if you don't believe me.

For me, the first trimester was a bit rough. Exhaustion, nausea, headaches, among other issues that I won't even go in to. I ran 2 miles at a time MAYBE about 10 times during the past few months. Talk about disappointing!!!! :(

I am feeling TONS better the past week or so and I am re-committing myself to my running / exercise program. I am trying not to beat myself up over this. I know I must listen to my body and never push myself to hard. I am fine with that. I am for now starting with the goal of running 2-3 miles 3 times a week at a very slowed down pace of course. A 12-13 minute per mile pace is fine by me. I guess you could call it shuffling or scooting instead of running, but at least I am getting out and moving.

Me posting my new goals on this blog will help me be more accountable, I hope.

Nike+ Sensor

This is how I keep track of all my runs...

This is the Nike+ iPod Sport Kit. It is what has motivated me to get out and run. Simply attach the Nike+ sensor onto your shoe, then plug the receiver into your iPod and you will hear feedback about the distance, time, pace and calories burned directly through your headphones. Afterwards a performance summary appears on your iPod screen and can be heard through the headphones. THEN you plug your iPod into your computer and NIKE downloads your run information to their website. Genius! So convenient. The Nike+ sensor is waterproof, virtually unbreakable and costs about $29.00.

**Please note that this sensor is most accurate in a NIKE shoe which has a built in pouch in the sole of the shoe. I wear Brooks running shoe so I strap it to the laces. It is about a tenth of a mile off every mile for me, but I know that so I make adjustments accordingly. If I want to run3 miles I run 3.3, if I want to run 8 miles I run 8.8, and so on.
